Our pulpit guest will be Dr. Matt Kerlin.
Dr. Kerlin is University Minister at Samford University where he preaches regularly and teaches in the Department of Religion and Beeson Divinity School. He was born in Georgia and grew up in Louisiana. Dr. Kerlin holds degrees from Louisiana State University (B.A. Music), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. Theology), and Baylor University (Ph.D. Historical Theology). He is married to Jonlyn Robson, a labor and delivery nurse at Brookwood Medical Center, and they have three children, Reid, Emma, and Kate.

Worship at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary or in Charter Chapel.
This Sunday, May 20, worship in the Sanctuary or in Charter Chapel at 10:30 AM. Dr. Matt Kerlin, Samford University's Assistant Dean of Spiritual Life and University Minister, will be our pulpit guest. Dr. Kerlin's scripture text is Colossians 2:16-3:1, and his message is entitled "The Value and Danger of Tradition." We will also be recognizing our 2012 graduates during this service.
Musical offerings include a vocal solo by Treva Medbery, ''Walk with God,'' and the Sanctuary Choir's presentation of ''Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,'' arranged by Ken Berg. The Sanctuary Handbell Choir will present ''Praise His Name in the Dance'' as prelude music and the Vivaldi "Spring'' as the offertory.
