School of the Arts Director Emily Logan is an accomplished pianist who is pursuing a Master's Degree in Piano Performance at Samford University, as a student of Dr. Kathryn Fouse. Emily is a recent Piano Performance graduate of Union University, where she accompanied the University Singers, was president of the Panhellenic Council, and graduated with a 3.97 GPA.
Emily has traveled worldwide and has had extensive exposure to diverse cultures. She is fluent in French, and has just returned from an extensive visit to South Korea. She is active in social justice and advocacy initiatives, and has served as a Hundley Center Tutor and volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Emily brings a great deal of energy, musicianship, initiative, organization, compassion, and relational skills to the Shades Crest School of the Arts.

The Shades Crest School of the Arts is a ministry of Shades Crest Baptist Church, created to provide quality instruction in the arts in a safe, supportive environment. Instruction is developmentally appropriate, and is available to any child, youth, or adult desiring to begin or continue study.
The Shades Crest School of the Arts received the 2011 Parent's Choice "Best Kid's Music Lessons" Award from Birmingham Magazine.
