Christian Faith - Dennis Sansom Music Hall
It is natural and good to want to understand our Christian faith, and one way to do this is by studying why the Church formulated its major doctrines (like the Incarnation of Christ and the Trinity) the way she did. Many of these beliefs were formulated through intense conflicts. We can learn more about our faith by studying these conflicts and the resolutions to them. I want to explore the backgrounds and teachings of five important confessions of the Christian faith. Each of these confessions expresses important theological beliefs and also challenge questionable and contradictory beliefs to Christianity. On January 20th we will look at the Apostles Creed and the Council of Nicea. On January 27th we will examine the Council of Constantinople. On February 10th we will study the Council of Ephesus, and finally on February 17th we will look at the Council of Chalcedon.

Making God's house a home is our desire at SCBC. To accomplish this, all family members, active and inactive,
need to feel loved and accepted. The challenge is being able to show love and acceptance to those who are no longer gathering with our "family." The youth will be studying Caring for Inactive Members: How to Make
God's House a Home. The goal of this study is to begin to discover ways to care
for inactive members and show God's love to them.
