Up to 50 children, kindergarten through sixth grade, will participate in a free camp, July 23-27 from 8:30 am – 12 pm. (These children are from families that do not speak English as their first language.) This year the camp theme is “Build It!” and the children will start out the morning building with LEGOs. They will also rotate through reading, writing, and math sessions to help them be better prepared for the upcoming school year. Refreshments, recreation, music, and Bible stories will round out the schedule. During camp we share the love of Christ and encourage them to do their best; it’s a fun learning experience!
How can you help with camp? Please donate healthy refreshments or lend LEGOs. We also need teachers/workers in the following areas: a co-teacher for kindergarten, a music teacher, one reading or writing teacher, a recreation leader, and a LEGO building leader to prepare and lead building challenges. Contact Sandy Flynn for more information (firstname.lastname@example.org, 205-422-3427).
