What is “This Is Us?”

“This Is Us” is a part of the mission statement emphasis this year on “a community of faith.” “This Is Us” is an intergenerational time of fellowship, learning, and sharing about our community of faith.

The purpose is to highlight a different aspect about what a faith community is–ours in particular. Faith community is not something we “know about;” faith community is something we experience. So these sessions are designed to remind us of God’s design for faith communities and to experience the joy and bond of faith community during our time together. It is just one element of the year long emphasis we are having that will focus on that part of our mission statement.

When and where will “This Is Us” take place?

Sunday, April 15, August 19 from 5:30-6:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Sunday, December 2 from 4-5:15 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Who should participate? Will there be childcare?

“This Is Us” is for attenders and members of our community of faith in the following age groups:

  • adults of all ages,
  • students (7th-12th grade),
  • and children (4th-6th grade).

Childcare will be available for preschool-3rd grade during all three of the “This Is Us” experiences and will be held in various locations around the church. When you arrive at “This Is US,” you will be given the location for your child’s care based on age. If you have questions concerning childcare for “This Is Us,” please contact Suzanne Reece or Connie Shaffer.

What if I can’t come to all three sessions?

Each session involves a different topic and is completely different in nature. If you are unable to attend a session, you can come to the others without feeling lost.

If you have any other questions concerning “This Is Us,” please contact Brian or Clella Lee.
