The goal of the SCBC Preschool Ministry is to walk alongside preschoolers and their parents, helping to lay a strong foundation of faith for each child. The desire is for preschoolers to learn simple biblical concepts like God created the world, God loves them and every other person, they can show God’s love to others, and so on.
The SCBC Preschool Ministry serves children from birth to six years old.
Worship
While you participate in Sunday morning worship in the 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. worship hours, your preschooler will enjoy their own worship experience. During worship, children will encounter Biblical play activities geared specifically for preschoolers and enjoy some fun on the playground.
Connect Groups
Connect Groups for preschoolers are at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays and are designed for children to learn Biblical truths through play, creativity, and engaging lessons. We have classes for each age group, and we provide a snack for all children ages one and older. Younger preschoolers hear a short and simple Bible story with a fun activity. Older preschoolers participate in a more in-depth Bible lesson with age-appropriate activities.
POP (formerly M & M’s)
On Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m., adults remain in the fellowship hall for Bible study, and preschoolers go to the preschool hall for POP, a learning time of music and missions. Each week we impart Biblical truths and scripture that children can memorize and apply in their daily lives. Programming for adults and preschoolers ends at 7:00 p.m.
Preschool Check-In
We care about every child who enters the Shades Crest preschool hall, and their safety is a top priority for us. When you arrive with your preschooler(s), you will check-in each child electronically—a quick and simple process. During check-in you will receive a tag for your child to wear while they are in our care, and a pick-up tag for you to bring when it is time to pick up your children. Your child’s tag will include your phone number, so we can text you should we need you for any reason. We look forward to serving your family!
